Minalungao National Park, General Tinio Nueva Ecija

Want to have a quick getaway with your family and friends, be close to nature and be ready to have an adventurous day? You can try this precious gem located General Tinio, Nueva Ecija.

Last March 2018, me and my beau with two other friends went here for a quick adventure. We have searched for a contact person from a DIY group in Facebook and luckily we found a reliable tour guide and reasonable price for the whole day trip.

We traveled by a private car so we just set a meet up point with kuya our trip coordinator and with his team, he assigned a tour guide dedicated for our whole stay.

We were four pax, we paid 800 per head and this would be the inclusions:

- Registration fee
- Parking fee (our car was parked near the bamboo rafts registration)
- Bamboo rafting (this would be our floating cottage too for the included lunch)
- Swimming (with life vests, since there are areas with strong current)
- Spelunking
- Hanging bridge
- Cliff diving (but we're too tired after the spelunking, so we did not try this)
- Hiking, 1000 steps to Grotto
- Tour guide and really good photographers all throughout the day
- Lunch (Sinigang, pork barbeque, unli rice, bottled water)
- Zipline (optional, one way for 100 pesos, two way I think was 150)

The rock formation within the river is spectacular. The strong current of the river may take you away from the bamboo raft, but good thing our kuya tour guide is helpful enough to guide us and very attentive by handing us their long bamboo sticks for us to hold on. There was also an instance were we walked along the side of the river and then the four of us jumped on the super cold river and just held our hands together and let the river drag us all the way, it was sooo fun. Kuya tourguide is still attentive and made sure that we were safe and sound, because it can be dangerous if the river gets too crowded with too many bamboo rafts. I would highly suggest that you go there very early if your date is on a weekend so that you can enjoy the river since it gets too crowded on a weekend. Good thing we arrived early on a Saturday around 8 am. If you're up for another adventure, you can try to go spelunking. This would be my first time since I'm a little claustrophobic. I have no choice because all of my companions are up for the challenge hahaha. Be sure to bring flashlight or better yet a headgear lights. The four of us were unprepared so we just settled for our mobile phone's flashlights but it will be hard since there would be areas that we would be needing our both hands so we just have the light from our tour guide. We took our lunch after the cave experience, did photo shoots again on the river and on the bamboo raft. On the afternoon, we crossed the hanging bridge and we went hiking to the 1000 steps Grotto. This would be the most exhausting part since we were all tired but this is very fulfilling once you got to go to the top part. Bring at least a bottle of water and just took a sip every time you stop to rest. I did a power nap and photo ops again before going down. Instead of climbing down the 1000 steps, we opted to the not the usual route to see the scenery of the whole place. It was a small cemented road that will lead us all the way down to the construction of a long slide and rooms for overnight. So before heading out, instead of crossing the bridge again, we took the zipline (100 php for one way). I was so scared because beau is being rowdy and the push of the zipline operators was so strong that we went too fast and I looked horrible in the photos taken, I looked like I'm crying haha.

All in all, we all had a blast, I was too tired when we got home so I took my meds right away and slept, slept and slept. It was one helluva experience and would definitely recommend it to all adventure seekers out there...☺👊
